North America Falls to Dictatorship

Sounds rather drastic doesn’t it?  For those of us that have experienced the best that this country has had to offer, it is as plain as it can be that we here in Canada are seeing the last of our freedoms vanishing before our eyes. In the past 40 to 50 years over 60 new taxes have been thrust on us. Hundreds of new laws and restrictions. Nothing can be built or created without government and burocratic interference. We have almost reached, in this country of mine (Canada), the point of no return and in the USA they regrettably have already reached it. Yes, when you have more than 50% of the population receiving entitlements, democracy is in trouble.

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2000 years prior, “ A DEMOCRACY IS ALWAYS TEMPORARY IN NATURE”; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time the voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury: then from that moment on every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, and then comes the dictatorship.

Is there a good explanation for how to avoid our country becoming a Dictatorship? I believe there is. All we have to do is listen and watch the current fiasco in the USA as they elect a new president. Most Canadians are down on Trump if for no other reason than that he knows precious little about our history with the US and cares even less. He has hit on one subject that any rational thinker has to agree, and that is that every country has to have secure borders. If he becomes president, the borders will be tightened so as to not allow just anyone with the desire for a free ride to enter and go immediately onto the welfare rolls. The old worn out line etched on the Statue of Liberty, of “Give me you’re tired, you’re poor, you’re burdened masses” etc. has to be re-thunk. These are the recent voters that are expecting all the benefits that generations have worked to acquire. These are the new immigrants that have taken over the GTA in Toronto and have elected probably the worst provincial government Ontario has experienced. Yes, even worse than the former McGuinty or even the Bob Rae bunch of hoodlums. In the comments section of my morning newspaper, “Letters to the Editor” a writer asks why we as a large majority of voters can’t take steps to have Wynne and her tribe of Liberal left wing whackoes  IMPEACHED. I can’t think of any true Canadian that wouldn’t be behind a movement to do just that. I am sure there would be a 99% turn out in favour of getting rid of this scourge and blight on our province.

Let’s bring Ontario back to a HAVE province the way we old guys remember it. A province that was the engine of Canada.  Our engine needs repair, new spark plugs and fresh gas: yes Gas, not wind from a blustery wind bag called WYNNE that has taken us into bankruptcy and impossible debt.
