And I thought we lived in a Christian country! If you were to visit (NOTL) which is Niagara on the Lake, you would never want to leave, especially in the warm months of spring, summer, and fall. The homes, well-manicured gardens, and flower displays are as beautiful as you will find anywhere in the world, they display how mankind with a lot of help from God can make a small town unusually beautiful. But all is not what it appears. If you are employed by our federal government and are capable of making judgments and decisions on moral and ethical matters, and if these judgments are not in line with the Progressive ruling authority, you will most likely lose your job. Free speech and morality have all but disappeared from our society. Don’t think this is just an irrational remark from a stodgy old senior citizen. Events over the past few months and years have proven this true. Canada is no different in its wokeness than the USA. We just have better ways of hiding our corruption. Believe it or not, we are censored by the lack of information we never hear. Much of our problems were we were indoctrinated to believe that Canadians were over-polite and apologized a lot. Unnoticed, by most of us, we have slipped into a Progressive society mode that has slowly separated us from the principles we grew up with.
“FAIR” is a synonym for Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism. This group was established in the United States in March of 2021. FAIR is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing civil rights and liberties for all Americans and Canadians (6 branches in Canada) and promoting a common culture based on fairness, understanding, and humanity. My newspaper, a subsidiary of the Toronto Star, states that this is a controversial US-based organization. There is controversy about fair play for all citizens and whether they should be monitored. Sounds to me like the Woke and Progressives are throwing their weight around the bottom line is that the chief librarian in NOTL expressed her agreement in a newspaper article to the ideals of FAIR. Cathy Simpson has been fired for expressing her agreement with this organization’s goals and mission which is –
"TODAY, almost 70 years after the Civil Rights Movement began, there is an urgent need to reaffirm and advance its core principles:
To insist on common humanity.
To recognize that we are all entitled to equality under the law. To advance Martin Luther King Jr’s guiding principle that we are all judged by the content of our character, not the color of our skin. That’s where FAIR comes in.
FAIR is a multi-disciplined, nonpartisan organization dedicated to defending the rights and liberties and promoting a common culture based on fairness, understanding, and humanity, as an advocate for open discourse and debate. FAIR is committed to celebrating our shared interests and values and advancing Martin Luther King Jr’s vision of equality for all – without exception."
However, Daryl Novak (library board chairman) claims that because of a philosophical disagreement, Ms. Simpson should be fired immediately. How can this man find fault with MLK?
As far from the tree of Wisdom we have fallen, I still feel that we as a society are strong and moral enough to understand that we as a Christian nation, know the difference between allowing adults to read and perform adult acts and teaching young impressionable minds that should be kept from this until they are advanced enough to understand this lifestyle. I have had many Gay and lesbian friends over the years but none would dare try to convert young children.
A number of LGBTQ+ were performing for a small group of children and their guardians in a local library recently and there was also a delegation of concerned parents there demonstrating peacefully. The library board said it did review the FAIR agenda and agreed that this is a right-wing agenda and impacted vulnerable people. Who are the vulnerable, the children or the LGBTQ+ performers? I would like to see this library board replaced by sane and responsible men and women who are only concerned with the safety of the minds and bodies of our vulnerable youth.
