Lost Identity

My memory is fading a little as I approach my 90th birthday, but I still remember when Canadians were respected in the world and we were thought of as decent and polite people. My wife of over 67 years and I have travelled the world and when we were escorts to mostly Americans, we suggested that they wear our Canadian flag pins to avoid any disturbing confrontations of “Yanky Go Home”. For many years during Canada’s first century, Canadians were made up mostly of White Anglo Saxons with about 10 % Francophones to give our population a wonderful mix, somewhat like a good Brandy Alexander. Following the second World war, many Europeans began to filter into our midst and they were welcomed as Canada’s young men were in short supply as we took big losses in the war effort. Dutch, Italian, Polish and other middle eastern countries came to Canada to avoid Communism. They were welcomed and were for the most part hard working independent wonderful citizens. Most were directed into our countryside to farms and small towns as laborers were needed on our farms. When their indenture period was completed, many returned to our larger cities and were very successful. It would seem the present programs are not working out to be as well for Canada as in our past.
Our Prime Minister, Mark Carney seems not to be on the same page as most Canadians when he spoke to a Muslim audience and said that Muslim values are Canadian values. I find this remark to show just how out of touch our PM really is. Our health minister seems to be no better informed when she (Marjorie Michel) and our immigration minister (Lena Diab) do not think that our health care needs to be considered with numbers of immigrants we should allow into our country. What kind of imbeciles have we elected?
When all the fog has cleared and the real numbers are revealed, Canada may increase in population to one hundred million by the end of this century. This is the plan laid out for Canada by former Blackrock executive Mark Wiseman who is key adviser to the PM Carney. Wiseman co-authored the Century Initiative report. Marc-Andre Blanchard was our ambassador to the UN. and is now Carney’s chief of staff. Blanchard oversaw Canada’s signature onto the U.N. Migration Pact, a treaty that allows easy movement of refugees and asylum seekers. Together, they are orchestrating the Liberal immigration policies. The agenda is for Canada to increase in population this century to 100 million through immigration. Very interesting when we consider our birth rate is the lowest in history. If that is not a recipe for our identity change, I am not sure what is.
The Liberal program spells out the demise of this country as we know it. Our Judaic-Christian culture and beliefs will be watered down. Our morals and religion that have already started to show weakness will be dissolved and Canada will cease to be.
