U.S. Democrats make fools of themselves.

Many years ago, I heard that the Canadian senate was a farce and made up of politicians that were for no other reason “washed up”. This was confirmed and made very clear at the recent senate hearings in the USA where Robert F. Kennedy was a witness representing the government’s sweeping changes to the health care of the United States citizens. This was a perfect opportunity for the Democrats to Showboat their biased position against this present administration. The proceedings took 3 hours and was just one big waste of time for as Kennedy stated this was an adult opportunity for knowledge and reasonable dialogue. The Democratic senators had other ideas. This was a rare opportunity to be in the limelight with little chance of dialogue that would have made some sense of it all, but just an opportunity to let the world know why the U.S. stands almost at the bottom of the list for world health. Firing 17 of the top executives of the CDC (Center for Disease Control) the USA has the highest per capita in the world, deaths from covid. That statistic should be enough to make some changes at the top of the American health institutions. Many questions were sprinkled into the rhetoric but Kennedy was unable to answer or explain because the answers were not of any interest to these closed minds. Change for some, is debilitating. Bernie Sanders was one of many that waved his arms around like an out-of-control windmill and his dialogue was all wind and no substance as were most of his colleagues. Mr. Kennedy was able to explain that he and his staff were trying to bring honesty and openness to the health care of Americans, and to do this, many changes had to take place. He was very concerned that 76.4% of Americans had chronic diseases as compared to the Kennedy presidency when it was only 1.4%. The United States average age of death ranks well down the scale below Japan, Canada and many others. Americans spend more on health care and are not very healthy for all their wealth.
If the Democrat party does not get back to a clear and simple philosophy that they once had but have sacrificed to a bunch of radicals, they will be reduced to a party never to take power again. This would be a shame as while my support is more to the right centre as a conservative thinker, I do feel the Republicans in the United States need a strong opposition to keep them on their toes and focused.
As I have been a supporter of many of Pres. Trump’s policies over the past few years, this has put me in conflict with many of my Canadian friends. I am starting to think that Trump needs to start showing more humility, it is good to be forceful and true to your beliefs but he is becoming far too bold to suit me. “Pride Goethe before a fall”.
